ROGER FRETWELL Registered LTA Coach

Roger Fretwell is our most experienced coach with over 30 years experience with the LTA, He is very passionate about tennis and is very Keen on getting children and adults into the game. Coached in many different venues over the past 30 years Roger has coached many people and knows his stuff, He can turn anyone into a budding tennis player. Roger’s energy and enthusiasm really shows through in his teaching so it’s no surprise many children want to be taught by him, Roger is first aid trained after completing a first aid course with St John Ambulance.

Roger plays tennis competitively for his club, Walton on Thames Lawn Tennis Club. He is also an avid football fan and support Ipswich Town FC.

I will take your child from complete beginner to mini tennis tournament player through my popular coaching programme. These are very sociable sessions which will also help children learn team skills and improve their confidence and fitness. WP_20151003_002 (1) Phil Giddings LTA Level 1: Assistant Tennis Coach

Phil Is our new assistant coach and our youngest coach at just 19 years old. He will start on the  31st January 2016, Phil has been coached by Head Coach Roger for the past 3 years and has really developed as a player and as a result has won 2 tournaments. He is extremely strong minded and doesn’t give up easily, he is not a player you want to bring to the net! Phil too is extremely passionate about tennis and is also keen to get children in tennis. Phil too is fully first aid trained and is also an active Officer in St John ambulance as an Operational Duty First Aider (OFAM) and has completed over 400 hours of public duties last year so is ready and capable to deal with any situation.

Phil is also a classically trained dancer at the Carlo Rossi School of Dance specialising in Tap and Ballet, with 16 years experience dancing.  He is also a football fan supporting Chelsea Football Club

Never give up, never give in, it doesn’t matter what the score or the odds, It doesn’t matter how far behind you may be, the games not over until the umpire says “Game Set and Match” nothing is impossible if you believe, go for every point, keep believing and never give up!
